The essence of travel

Thailand is not visited. It goes through.

There are countries that can be seen from an air-conditioned bus. And there are countries that force you to get down, play, try, get it wrong and try again. Thailand belongs to the second group.

It is a country intense, chaotic and fascinating. We're not going to avoid that pulse - we're going to teach you how to surf it. Because the real adventure happens when you step out of the hotel and you let the street surprise you with a taste, a laugh or a path you didn't expect.

There will be impressive temples and cities full of life. But there will also be conversations that start between strangers and end up being the highlight of the trip. Silences at the top of Phu Chi Fa. Markets with flavors you never imagined. And the moment when the waters of Koh Lipe finally force you to breathe slowly.

The four Thais

One country. Four souls.

Bangkok is not the same as Koh Lipe. Chiang Rai is not the same as Krabi. Each stop on the journey has its own speed, its own color, its own truth. That's why the trip works: because it doesn't stay in one.

01 Bangkok - Downtown
Days 1 - 2

Bangkok, sacred chaos.

Where golden temples coexist with tuk-tuks and skyscrapers.

The capital is not explained - is traversed. Here begins the trip, with two days to find the rhythm of the country. Visit to the Grand Palace, the former royal residence, and the venerated Emerald Buddha. Walk through the Wat Pho with its gigantic Reclining Buddha.

But above all: the neighborhood of Talad Noi, where the alleys hide street art, boutique cafes and local life as it is, on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.

  • Royal Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew
  • Reclining Buddha and traditional massage school
  • Exploration of the Talad Noi neighborhood
02 Chiang Rai - North
Days 3 - 5

Chiang Rai, the mystical north.

Where three borders look into each other's eyes and the sun rises over a sea of clouds.

From the chaos of Bangkok to the silence of the north. We visited the Golden Triangle - the exact point where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet on the banks of the Mekong - with boat ride to observe the crossing between countries.

The next day, the great experience of the north: sunrise trekking in Phu Chi Fa. Gentle hike to the cliff viewpoint, where the sun rises over a sea of clouds stretching to the mountains of Laos. And a free day to inhabit Chiang Rai at your own pace.

  • Golden Triangle and boat ride on the Mekong
  • Sunrise at Phu Chi FaSea of clouds over Laos
  • Free day to explore Chiang Rai at your own pace
03 Krabi - Andaman
Days 6 - 9

Krabi, coastal adventure.

Limestone cliffs, jungle temples and turquoise mangroves.

From the north we fly to the south. Four days in Krabi, where adventure mixes with the sea. We climbed the 1,260 steps of Wat Tham Suea (Tiger Cave Temple) to its summit, with panoramic views of the limestone cliffs and the Andaman Sea coastline.

Morning trekking to Dragon Crest, The «Dragon's Tongue» - a rocky platform with the most spectacular panoramic views in the south. And private kayaking in Ao Thalane, sailing through limestone canyons and mangrove swamps, combined with a visit to Hong Island by traditional boat. longtail.

  • 1,260 steps of the Temple of the Tiger Cave
  • Trekking to Dragon CrestThe Dragon's Tongue
  • Kayak + Hong Island with picnic included
  • Traditional Thai massage in Ao Nang
04 Koh Lipe - Paradise
Days 10 - 13

Koh Lipe, the blue that heals.

The «Maldives of Thailand». Where the only plan is to have no plan.

The trip ends as a trip should end: with the sea. Four days on Koh Lipe, an island paradise in the Andaman Sea known as the «Maldives of Thailand», famous for its crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches.

There are no temples to visit here and no mandatory excursions. There are three days off to relax on the beach, snorkel in nearby reefs, or simply gaze at the horizon from the Idyllic Concept resort, where we are staying. After ten days of rhythm, it's time for the official permission to do nothing.

  • Ferry from Pak Bara Pier across the Andaman Sea
  • 3 days off on one of Thailand's most unspoiled islands
  • Snorkeling in coral reefs and crystalline waters
What defines this trip

Four pillars that make it unique.

It is not an itinerary. It is a way to cross Thailand. Four axes that are repeated every day and that make the difference between «seeing the country» and "seeing the country". to really inhabit it.

01.

The group and laughter.

You don't come to see people, you come to be part of something. Toasts on Bangkok rooftops, improvised dinners in Chiang Rai markets and that complicity that only the route gives. You don't come back with contacts - you come back with friends on the road.

02.

Temples with actual weight.

Places that command respect and force you to silence your cell phone - and your mind. From the Grand Palace to Wat Tham Suea, here you will feel the vibration of centuries of spirituality intact. It is culture that you feel in your skin, not in the camera.

03.

Taste street.

Thailand is a party. Spicy, sweet, wild. From the pad thai from a stall in Bangkok to the fresh fish of Koh Lipe. Here eating is the best risk sport. We take you to our favorite places - you choose what to try.

04.

The embrace of the wild.

We leave the asphalt behind. Under the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea, over a sea of clouds in Phu Chi Fa or between mangroves paddling a kayak. You will feel how Thai nature gives you back the energy that the city steals from you.

How to reserve your place

Three steps. No commitment to the last.

You don't fill out a form and show up in Bangkok. There's a human conversation beforehand. It's what sets us apart - and what makes groups work.

01 First contact - 2 min

You fill in the form.

You tell us the basics: what outing you are interested in, how you travel, what you are looking for. It does not commit you to anything. It helps us to prepare well for the conversation with you.

02 Human connection - 10 min

We speak with you.

A short video call with Rakel or Toni. We solve real doubts and see if there is a good fit with the group. Our goal is not to fill seats, but to create a group that works.

03 Formalization

Now begins the good.

If we both feel it's a good fit, we will formalize your place with a deposit of 300€.. The rest is structured according to the payment schedule we send you. We help you with flights and open the WhatsApp group.

Completing the form does not imply any reservation. It is the first step in a conversation. If in the end we both feel it doesn't fit, nothing happens - we propose you another SunZen trip or we simply say goodbye as friends.

Who goes with you

We do not send anyone in our place.

We are Rakel and Toni, the creators of SunZen and the ones who go with you on this trip. One of us will be with the group from Madrid to Madrid. - the first flight, the sunrise in Phu Chi Fa, the last sunset in Koh Lipe. Everything.

In Thailand, we also have a expert local Spanish-speaking guide who brings the cultural context that only someone from the country can provide. Perfect combination: SunZen proximity + deep local knowledge.

Frequently Asked Questions

What usually ask us.

Honest answers to the most common questions. If you have any other questions, tell us about them on the call.

Can you help me with international flights?

Of course. We advise you to choose the best combination and, if possible, we coordinate the group to fly together from the beginning. It is not mandatory to depart from Madrid: each person chooses his or her airport of origin and we help to make everything fit together.

The 3 internal flights within Thailand are included. in the price of the trip - this is handled directly by us.

What happens if I travel alone?

It is precisely designed to work well. Many of the people who rely on SunZen come to us alone. - the pre-filter exists so that the group has the right energy before flying.

About the rooms: The basic room is shared with another person of the same gender (no extra charge). If you prefer a single room, it is possible with transparent supplement that we communicated to you before confirming.

What documentation do I need to travel to Thailand?

Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. For tourism, Spanish passports no visa required for stays up to 60 days - direct entry on arrival. We send you complete information in plenty of time for you to land with no surprises.

What are the physical fitness requirements?

You don't have to be an athlete. It is necessary to be able to walk at a certain pace and climb steps.. The most demanding activities are: the 1,260 steps of Wat Tham Suea, the sunrise trekking at Phu Chi Fa (gentle but very early in the morning), and the trek to Dragon Crest (4 km with moderate slope).

If you have any physical or health limitations, let us know on the call and see if the trip fits - sometimes we adapt, sometimes we propose another departure.

What do I need to bring on the trip?

We send you a detailed baggage guide before flying: comfortable clothes for tropical weather, light trekking shoes, modest clothes for the temples (shoulders and knees covered), mosquito repellent, high sunscreen, swimsuit, plug adapter. Medium suitcase is sufficient - everything else you buy on site.

Can I depart from another airport?

Yes, the itinerary starts in Madrid or Valencia for those who fly with the group, but you can depart from Barcelona, Malaga or any European airport.. We help you to coordinate the connection with the arrival flight to Bangkok so that you can meet the group without complications.

Do I need travel insurance?

It is mandatory. Traveling without insurance to Southeast Asia is crazy. We pass you the contact of the insurance that we use (IATI, Chapka or Mapfre depending on the case), with coverage adjusted to what you are going to do in Thailand: trekking, kayaking, snorkeling. It costs between 50 and 110€ for the dates of the trip.

Is there a minimum number of travelers for the group to depart?

Yes, 6 persons minimum. Below that, we cancel the departure and refund the 100% of the deposit - or offer you to move to another date at no additional cost. You'll never get stuck on a trip without a group by our decision.

Can I bring a companion?

Of course. You can come with a partner, friend or family member. The previous filter would be done with both people (a joint conversation). All we ask is that everyone has their own criteria for coming here - we don't want someone to come «dragged in» because the other person insists. That doesn't go over well in any group.

Is there an age limit?

We set no formal limits. Our trips attract people between 30 and 65 years old mostly, but we have had people outside that range. What matters is the attitude and the way of traveling, not the age. For minors please consult - if there are families we always evaluate on a case by case basis.

Why travel in a group?

Because there are countries that are best enjoyed accompanied. Thailand is one of them. Conversations in the van crossing the north, impromptu dinners in Bangkok markets, the shared sunrise over a sea of clouds - those things don't happen the same way traveling alone. And because we take care of the logistics, you just take care of living.

Can I find a similar proposal in the market?

Honestly, finding something identical is difficult. Organized tours to Thailand do exist - but with groups of 30+ people, conventional accommodations and forced pace. What we do (group of 13 max, 4 hotels 4★, double guide, 3 internal flights included, balanced pace) is an intermediate category between backpacking and classic luxury tour. That's where we live.

What if I have never traveled in a group?

Even better. You don't bring vices from previous experiences. The first time on a SunZen group trip is often an eye-opener. - people are surprised at how well it works when the group is filtered and the pace is right. If you have a specific concern, tell us about it on the call.

What is the profile of my travel companions like?

People who are looking for exactly what you are looking for when you read this page.Travel with criteria, with human rhythm and with the desire to experience the destination from the inside. They are usually professionals, people who travel alone or as a couple, curious, with previous travel culture. The website is in 5 languages - who knows where your companions will come from on this outing.

The next step

Your place in Thailand is waiting for you.

Only 13 seats per outlet. The first thing is the conversation - no commitment, no salesmanship, no fine print.

The adventure begins the moment you decide to take the plunge.
